[Power-over-Ethernet Inline Power Pass-Through]
DCGS-2005L implements a set of ports for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) inline power pass-through, which provides a low cost solution to "expand" a PoE uplink port into four downstream ports, one of which is capable of receiving the inline power from the uplink cable to power a connected PD (e.g., an PoE enabled IP phone).
The PoE Inline power pass-through makes it possible to reuse a 10/100 IP phone in a "Gigabit to Desktop" connection. Otherwise, a more expensive IP phone with Gigabit ports has to be used to achieve end-to-end gigabit network connection.
